Queer Trans Therapists of Color Consult Group

This group welcomes your full selves and encourages bringing in your griefs, stickiest feelings, toughest cases, clinical curiosites, love for liberation, and longing for community.

With whatever you bring, we’ll be curious about your relationship to 4 concepts, which are key in shaping an anti-oppressive therapeutic space that supports deeper self-discoveries, honors client systems and context, and deepens radical love as we face hard inner, outer, and relational realities with clients.

In our group, I’ll weave in knowledge about the brain and trauma, brain healing science, parts work, somatics, and other clinical interventions that support you in finding clarity in clinical stuckness.

Our ancestors are also welcome in this space to guide us through the unknown.

This group celebrates transness and welcomes all gender identities & expressions.

The 4 concepts we’ll explore are:

  • Holding ourselves well allows us to be more available for connection while we’re with clients. We’ll be curious about what’s blocking you from compassionate self witnessing while you're working.

  • How are we owning our position in the room to shape a space that supports the agency and healing of clients without our agenda and judgments getting in the way?

  • Leaning into “of course” energy trusts that our clients are showing up in ways that make internal sense and are wise for their system. If we don’t understand the coherence yet, we seek to understand with curiosity and no fault energy.

  • Being in humility about not knowing helps us access deeper curiosities and creativity with clients.

In our first meeting, I’ll give a didactic portion to cover these 4 concepts and why they support best therapy outcomes based on principles of brain healing science & anti-oppression.

the facilitator

Hi! I’m Bokyung (they/she). This is me hugging my favorite tree.

I’m a queer, gender expansive diasporic Korean who loves to use brain healing science to capture human and ancestral experiences in my body.

I’m on a spiritual quest for deeper truths and self-discoveries that heal my lineage.

I’m passionate about building community with queers and finding our way together in this griefy, scary, beautiful world.

I love supporting QTPOC therapists’ ability to be decolonial through embodied exploration and neuroscience.

I am most influenced by my certified training in the STAIR Method, a neurobiology-informed integrative method of experiential therapy that supports natural resilience, growth of self trust, and trauma recovery.

      • Get support around treatment planning and learn clinical interventions.

      • Develop an embodied skill to practice using during sessions to hold yourself well while facing hard stuff.

      • Be with an inner stirring through embodied exploration with me.

      • Role play around a sticky clinical moment. I’m always down to play therapist and workshop a sticky moment with you!

  • 15 mins to connect, ask questions, close.
